Pentecost: The Birth of the Church and God’s Heart for the Nations

Pentecost is the birth of the Church and a powerful declaration that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for every people, every tribe, every nation and every tongue on earth. After Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension, the disciples gathered together in Jerusalem waiting for the promised Holy Spirit. Then came the moment that changed history forever.

Pentecost was the beginning of that great gathering. May we be a Spirit-filled Church with hearts for the nations, faithfully proclaiming the Gospel until every people group has heard the name of Jesus.

Unreached People Groups are Still Waiting - Will you Pray?

Did you know there are 4,487 unreached people groups in the world today? That represents 43% of all people groups worldwide. Behind that number are millions of men, women, and children who have little or no access to the Gospel.

Tomorrow is International Day for the Unreached. It is celebrated on Pentecost - the day when the gospel was heard in many languages so it could be taken throughout the world. Would you consider praying each day for the unreached?

Anglicans in Prayer: Raising Generations of Prayer Warriors for Global Missions

Imagine the impact of 75 years of faithful prayer for global missions, the unreached, and the persecuted church.

Imagine a five-year-old child learning to pray not only for their own family and community, but also for children around the world who are persecuted for following Jesus. Imagine that child praying for people who have never heard the name of Jesus and for missionaries willing to leave home, learn new languages and cultures, and faithfully share the hope of the gospel. Then imagine that child continuing those prayers throughout their lifetime.

God’s Global Mission and the Local Church

I can personally testify that the church’s involvement in global mission is life-giving to the sending church. At CTK because of our cross-cultural worker relationships our prayer life is more vibrant, our vision is keen for the lost, and we are reminded weekly that God’s purposes are global.  Regular communication, prayer, and advocacy for the unreached have changed the way we worship and the way we think about our own community. Not all are called to go, but all of us are called to participate in God’s Global Mission.

Embracing the Unexpected

Mission in Brazil has revealed an important truth: God often works in unexpected places and through ordinary moments. From Ubers and grocery stores to family dinners and street conversations, opportunities to share the Gospel are everywhere. Reflecting on the parable of the sower, this testimony explores how faithfulness in planting seeds—rather than immediate results—has transformed one missionary’s understanding of evangelism. In a culture shaped by many beliefs and distractions, God continues to soften hearts, open doors, and bring hope in ways we may never expect.

What Believers in Nigeria Face Every Day—and Why the Global Church Must Not Look Away

Christians across Nigeria continue to endure extraordinary persecution, violence, and displacement, yet the Church remains steadfast. During a recent journey through Plateau State, ministry partners witnessed firsthand the realities many believers face daily—villages destroyed, families displaced, churches burned, and communities living under constant threat. Despite these hardships, Nigerian Christians continue planting churches, sharing the Gospel, and carrying Bibles into some of the most dangerous regions in the country. Church leaders such as Archbishop Benjamin Kwashi, Canon Panshak Panbish, and Rev. Moses continue to faithfully shepherd believers through unimaginable suffering while calling the global Church to prayer. This powerful testimony is both a sobering reminder of the cost of faith and an inspiring witness to the endurance of the Church in Nigeria.

What causes people who have known the power and presence of the living God to stop following Him?

According to Moses, it begins with complacency…when God’s people forget to honour Him as the Father who lovingly formed and watched over them and instead relegate the Almighty Creator and Saviour to the sidelines of their lives.

That is not only ancient Israel’s story; it is Europe’s story. Once the cradle of the Reformation, Europe is now a mission field. The Netherlands, where Louise and I serve, is a vivid example of what happens when nations that once knew God slowly forget Him.

A Friendship Across Faiths- Discovering God Together in Southeast Asia

When I first arrived in Southeast Asia, I longed for connection—someone who understood not just my language, but me. God answered that prayer through an unexpected friendship with my coworker Asma, a refugee from Myanmar. What began as shared conversations about culture and life soon deepened into honest discussions about faith, as we began reading the Bible and the Qur’an together, exploring stories of prophets like Adam, Noah, and Moses. Along the way, I’ve been challenged by her perspective, humbled by our differences, and reminded of God’s holiness, mercy, and pursuit of humanity. This journey has become more than a friendship—it is a prayerful hope that, through curiosity and trust, she might one day come to know Jesus more fully.

Anglican Introduction to Missions 2nd Edition Available Now!

Anglican Introductions to Missions 2.0 is now available! We’re grateful that the Lord has been using an Anglican Introduction to Missions (AIM) curriculum  to spur both prayer for the nations and a passion for missions among those who participate in the course.  The curriculum has been instrumental in the sending of workers to the field in addition to opening the eyes of many in our congregations to the remaining task of global evangelization among the least reached people groups of the world. This curriculum, introduced at Provincial Assembly 2024, has been bearing fruit in churches and dioceses across the Province and is now available on Amazon as an updated second edition.
