Pentecost is the birth of the Church and a powerful declaration that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for every people, every tribe, every nation and every tongue on earth. After Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension, the disciples gathered together in Jerusalem waiting for the promised Holy Spirit. Then came the moment that changed history forever.

Pentecost was the beginning of that great gathering. May we be a Spirit-filled Church with hearts for the nations, faithfully proclaiming the Gospel until every people group has heard the name of Jesus.

Did you know there are 4,487 unreached people groups in the world today? That represents 43% of all people groups worldwide. Behind that number are millions of men, women, and children who have little or no access to the Gospel.

Tomorrow is International Day for the Unreached. It is celebrated on Pentecost - the day when the gospel was heard in many languages so it could be taken throughout the world. Would you consider praying each day for the unreached?

The vision Archbishop Foley Beach cast in 2014 continues to grow today through dioceses, congregations, and faithful leaders who believe the Church is called to take the name of Jesus to the ends of the earth. I can personally testify that the church’s involvement in global mission is life-giving to the sending church. At CTK because of our cross-cultural worker relationships our prayer life is more vibrant, our vision is keen for the lost, and we are reminded weekly that God’s purposes are global.  Regular communication, prayer, and advocacy for the unreached have changed the way we worship and the way we think about our own community. Not all are called to go, but all of us are called to participate in God’s Global Mission.

A recent visit to Brazil revealed a powerful vision for global mission: raising up and sending the next generation of cross-cultural workers. As partnerships grow between Brazil and the U.S., one truth becomes clear, we are in this together.

When I first arrived in Southeast Asia, I longed for connection—someone who understood not just my language, but me. God answered that prayer through an unexpected friendship with my coworker Asma, a refugee from Myanmar. What began as shared conversations about culture and life soon deepened into honest discussions about faith, as we began reading the Bible and the Qur’an together, exploring stories of prophets like Adam, Noah, and Moses. Along the way, I’ve been challenged by her perspective, humbled by our differences, and reminded of God’s holiness, mercy, and pursuit of humanity. This journey has become more than a friendship—it is a prayerful hope that, through curiosity and trust, she might one day come to know Jesus more fully.

Anglican Introductions to Missions 2.0 is now available! We’re grateful that the Lord has been using an Anglican Introduction to Missions (AIM) curriculum  to spur both prayer for the nations and a passion for missions among those who participate in the course.  The curriculum has been instrumental in the sending of workers to the field in addition to opening the eyes of many in our congregations to the remaining task of global evangelization among the least reached people groups of the world. This curriculum, introduced at Provincial Assembly 2024, has been bearing fruit in churches and dioceses across the Province and is now available on Amazon as an updated second edition.

When I was eleven, my dad picked me to go with him to church where a missionary would be sharing about her experiences serving in Africa. I remember being mesmerized by the photos and the stories she shared. After just an hour of being exposed to the world of foreign missions, I said to my dad on the way home, “I want to be a missionary when I grow up!”
