Did you know there are 4,487 unreached people groups in the world today? That represents 43% of all people groups worldwide. Behind that number are millions of men, women, and children who have little or no access to the Gospel.

Tomorrow is International Day for the Unreached. It is celebrated on Pentecost - the day when the gospel was heard in many languages so it could be taken throughout the world. Would you consider praying each day for the unreached?

Imagine the impact of 75 years of faithful prayer for global missions, the unreached, and the persecuted church.

Imagine a five-year-old child learning to pray not only for their own family and community, but also for children around the world who are persecuted for following Jesus. Imagine that child praying for people who have never heard the name of Jesus and for missionaries willing to leave home, learn new languages and cultures, and faithfully share the hope of the gospel. Then imagine that child continuing those prayers throughout their lifetime.

The ministry of the Order of the Daughters of the Holy Cross extends far beyond their own chapters and churches. Through the In Christ Alone Fund, members and supporters help empower women and girls to serve Christ around the world. These donations provide grants for mission work and ministry opportunities that are transforming lives through the gospel.

The New Wineskins Conference, only 5 weeks away, brings people together from all over the world. Many of them desperately need prayer. Some are missionaries serving in the most difficult mission fields – places of poverty, spiritual oppression, and even violence. Others are serving in churches in our province who also need a touch from the Lord. If you have experience in prayer ministry, will you consider helping to meet this need by being part of the team that prays for them in person? We’ve seen many breakthroughs in this ministry!

New Wineskins is grateful to God for the life and legacy of the Rev. Mike Flynn who passed away this week. Fr. Mike was a fixture at New Wineskins Conferences, leading prayer ministry sessions on inner healing and anointings for ministry at nine conferences over 28 years. Fr. Mike’s FreshWind Ministries had a global impact on the Body of Christ. His desire was that every Christian might be filled with the Holy Spirit, find healing and wholeness through the power of forgiveness and restoration, and discover the unique giftings for service that the Holy Spirit imparts to all believers.

It was my sister Mindy who suggested that we go to the market in a place called Chichicastenago in Guatemala on our trip there in January.

It was a blazing hot day, our second clinic day in the village of Ntooma. The Gospel tent was buzzing with activity as our Ugandan evangelism and prayer teams were ministering to the clinic patients. Dr. Chris Keenan, the team dentist, led a ninety-year-old man over to our area. Chris explained that the man had a terminal tumor in his throat and that even back in the US there was nothing that could be done medically to save him. Chris, himself a strong Christian, knew that the best we could do was offer him the Gospel and prayer ministry. Chris also told me that the aged man had been candidly told the seriousness of his condition.
