Super Bowl LX: An Opportunity to Pray and Raise Awareness
As half a million people travel to San Francisco for Super Bowl LX (February 8th), the New Wineskins Anglican Freedom Network calls for prayer.
What if the thousands of people who gather for high-profile sporting events like the Super Bowl could become a force for good?
What’s the Best Way to Teach Anglican Missions to Graduate Students?
“I felt closest to God during Bishop Yassir Eric's talk. One of his points was that he was not here because he was special…but because Jesus met him and changed his life. I am often resistant to sharing the gospel, because I'm weary of "cultural colonialism" and proselytizing. But hearing Bp. Yassir say ‘Someone decided to share Jesus with me, and it changed my life,’ reminded me that we don't get a choice! This gospel is not ours to keep from others.”
Hidden in Plain Sight: The Evil of Human Trafficking (and What We CAN Do)
I live in an area filled with all kinds of trees. Despite popular perception, a tree’s root system can be between two and five times larger than what we see of the tree above the ground. Icebergs can also have this fascinating characteristic. Recently, Love 146, a non-profit that works alongside children impacted by human trafficking, used the image of an iceberg to illustrate the gap between what most people think human trafficking prevention looks like and what it can also look like. The most difficult challenges of human trafficking can be hidden in plain sight and exist just below the surface of our understanding.

At New Wineskins Missions Network, we are profoundly grateful for the dedicated men and women who help advance global missions through their faithful service on our Board of Trustees. Today, we want to express our deep appreciation for two such servants who have given generously of their time, leadership, and hearts: The Rev. Canon Bob Lawrence and Dana Standridge.
Be Sleepless for the Persecuted: The Story of the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church
“No Christian should sleep well at night while our brothers and sisters are being martyred,” said the late Charles Colson. Colson, founder of Prison Fellowship and former “hatchet man” for President Richard Nixon, was one of the top Christian leaders who in 1996 committed to promoting a worldwide day of prayer specifically to pray for persecuted Christians.
Art as Mission: Becoming Missionaries of Beauty
People are looking for purpose and for the meaning of life and they are hungry for a spirituality that embraces all aspects of their person—including the imagination. This is a visual generation that is overstimulated by ever-present technology, endless news cycles, and the demands of social media. But for decades Christians have tried to reach the culture without some of the church’s greatest resources: beauty and the arts. Art has the power to touch people’s hearts and minds. One of the ways that we can bring hope to our world that is searching for answers is through the arts.
Worship with us at the 2025 New Wineskins Conference!
Each time believers from around the world gather at the New Wineskins Global Missions Conference, something deeply spiritual takes place, something far greater than a conference schedule or a series of talks. Worshipping together as a global body becomes a living glimpse of Revelation 7:9, where the Apostle John describes “a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”

What is ARDF?
The Anglican Relief and Development Fund has been around since 2004, but with this long name it can sometimes be confusing to know who they are and what they do. Thankfully, their mission can be explained by their acronym: ARDF.
Part 2: The Role of History in Pastoral Care for Christians from a Muslim Background
Familiarity with history also allows for the recognition of self-worth and value for one’s local Christian community. It was striking to see how CMBs in North Africa were energized by hearing that their local bishop martyr, Cyprian, had made such a lasting and profound impact on Christian theology and ecclesiology.
Part 1: The Role of History in Pastoral Care for Christians from a Muslim Background
It happened twice, once in North Africa and once in Constantinople. I had been invited to give some lectures to congregations consisting mostly of Christians from a Muslim background (CMBs).
Blessed by Our Daily Bread
“Blessing, as the biblical writers conceive it, is a kind of ecological phenomenon; it connects God and the creatures in a complex of interlocking relationships,” writes biblical scholar Ellen Davis. As Christians, we believe that our Triune Lord creates, redeems, and sustains all of Creation.
Letter from the Archbishop: World Mission Sunday
As a province, we have set aside a day early in our calendar year to highlight this great co-mission to reach our neighbors, both locally and globally, with the saving message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This year World Mission Sunday is February 4th…

Networking: The Future of Missions
In the launching of our redesigned website, we took care to make sure that the story of our history was preserved and presented with accuracy and honor. As we thought about our 43 years of helping Anglicans live as mission-minded Christians, we began to see three distinct eras of our ministry’s life.…
