The Church: A Beacon of Hope in the Ebola Crisis
The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has had a recent outbreak of a rare strain of the Ebola virus. The World Health Organization has declared this a public health emergency of international concern with more than 1000 cases and near 250 suspected deaths. There have been additional cases in Uganda.
The situation is dire, and the Church in the affected communities is in urgent need of our prayers and support.
A Church in Texas and a Mission in the Congo
A young church in Texas is now forging a partnership with young church plants in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. “Even with our relatively small resources, young mothers can launch missionary movements, and rectors can make a difference in the nations.”

The Peacemakers of Bunia
The Rev. Bernard Bisoke, the Anglican Church of Congo’s provincial youth coordinator, runs a peace center in the regional capital of Bunia. Bunia is part of Ituri Province, which the U.S. State Department has warned is frequently beset by “crime, civil unrest, terrorism, armed conflict, and kidnapping.”
