An Update from Harvest Elementary School
Harvest Elementary School is a Christian school in Karachi, Pakistan that first opened in August 2023 with only 15 students and 3 teachers. Because of your faithful prayers and generous support, Harvest Elementary School now has 30 students getting free, quality Christian education!
Having an education is one crucial way for Christian children to escape the cyclical life of poverty that most Christians in Karachi, as an oppressed and economically disadvantaged group, are forced into their entire lives. Harvest Elementary School offers Christian children in the poor, marginalized community in Karachi the opportunity to obtain free education without having to attend Islamic public schools, where they often struggle to pay school fees and are forced to study and abide by the Quran.
Recently, Harvest Elementary School has finished construction of a brand new classroom and has set up new sound equipment and Wifi in the school building. Computer classes are now also being offered for students to learn the basics of how to operate computers and technology using ten newly purchased Chromebooks. In preparation for the new school year, students have also been given uniforms, shoes, school course textbooks, notebooks, bags, and other school supplies.
One exciting event the students are looking forward to is the picnic that the school hosts every year before summer vacations begin. This will be a good time for them to celebrate in fellowship with the rest of the school community.

Here are some of the ongoing needs that Harvest Elementary School is facing:
The school is currently run on gas-powered electricity, which is expensive. The goal is to switch to a solar-powered system to provide continuous, cost-effective electricity with solar panels.
10 more Chromebooks are still needed for the students.
Air conditioning is needed for the administrators' and staffs' office, especially with the current heat wave in Pakistan.

Max , a native of Pakistan, came to America in 2019 to attend the New Wineskins Conference as a scholarship recipient, and is now on the path towards U.S. citizenship. Max has lived in 5 states (SC, NC, VA, DC and MD) with 7 host families! Max has had lots of amazing experiences in a short period of time. He worked as a summer youth intern at Truro Anglican Church. He is now back with his church family at Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro, NC, leading the Alpha Course ministry, running the youth group for the Sudanese congregation, and serving on staff at New Wineskins. Max has represented the Anglican Persecuted Church Network at an International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington, DC, and speaks on behalf of those persecuted at advocacy and awareness events around the country.
