A year ago this week, 1,600 of us from 65 nations were gathered at Ridgecrest for the New Wineskins Global Mission Conference! Our theme of One Mission encouraged everyone, young and old alike, to pray into how God was calling them to Be the one, See the one, and Share the One True God!

“So, first time to know about Christianity [was] from my friends at school and my neighborhood. I live near a Catholic Church and Christian [Protestant] Church in [part of Indonesia].…”

While on a short-term mission trip to North Africa with Anglican Frontier Missions during the fall of 2022, we were encouraged by the rector of our host church to explore further south where the population is primarily composed of the Berber people group. There was something there he wanted us to discover, and we saw the twinkle in his eye!

At Gafcon IV, I was the youth delegate from the ACNA’s Diocese of the South, representing 53 churches. To serve this end, I made it my top priority to learn all that I could from fellow, global Christians in order to bring this learning back with me. I can say that what took place at Gafcon far exceeded my expectations.

Monday, February 20, marked the thirteenth consecutive day, and the concluding public service, of a new, fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Asbury University. This ongoing gathering started at the Christian school in Wilmore, Kentucky, but it has spread far beyond Wilmore to many other schools, such as Cedarville University and Lee University…

It was a normal Wednesday chapel service, in Hughes Auditorium. But a dozen students stayed afterword for prayer, and students kept coming back to the chapel. Then the group of students grew, and never left, staying for prayer, repentance, worship, reading of scripture, and exhortation.

In September, I found myself in the beautiful mountains outside of Asheville NC for my first New Wineskins conference. I was excited to be at the conference and to be in the mountains. I knew going into the week that God would clarify some things for me, but I had no idea what that might look like. Now I do.

From September 22nd to 25th, the American Anglican Council (AAC) attended the New Wineskins for Global Mission Conference in Ridgecrest, NC, directed by Jenny Noyes. Some 1,600 Anglicans from around the globe attended this triennial gathering focused on global missions. Included were archbishops, bishops, clergy, lay leaders, and many youth and children. It was a wonderful, Spirit-filled, worshipping reunion of Anglicans on fire for local and global mission.

St. Peter’s sewing school in West Bengal, India is a Covid-19 rehabilitation program for women who have lost their jobs and migrated back home. The program gives women the skill of sewing and enables them to produce cloths that are sold in the local market.

About three years ago the Daughters of The Holy Cross at Anglican Church of the Redeemer in Chattanooga, Tennessee began to sense an increasing desire, perhaps even a calling, to put faces and facts into these prayers. Who are the persecuted? Where are they? What specific suffering do they experience? What is the reality of need behind our prayers for them?

I attended New Wineskins in 2019. It was just weeks after sending feminine pads and education to one class of girls in Uganda. I was brand new at this venture, and I knew that I had a lot to learn.

New Wineskins is grateful to God for the life and legacy of the Rev. Mike Flynn who passed away this week. Fr. Mike was a fixture at New Wineskins Conferences, leading prayer ministry sessions on inner healing and anointings for ministry at nine conferences over 28 years. Fr. Mike’s FreshWind Ministries had a global impact on the Body of Christ. His desire was that every Christian might be filled with the Holy Spirit, find healing and wholeness through the power of forgiveness and restoration, and discover the unique giftings for service that the Holy Spirit imparts to all believers.

The Rev. Bernard Bisoke, the Anglican Church of Congo’s provincial youth coordinator, runs a peace center in the regional capital of Bunia. Bunia is part of Ituri Province, which the U.S. State Department has warned is frequently beset by “crime, civil unrest, terrorism, armed conflict, and kidnapping.”

Just about three years ago, my wife Gretchen and I were close to making the decision to join the Anglican Communion. We had learned the history of the Anglican church, studied her theology, fallen in love with the rhythms of the Book of Common Prayer and become actively involved in a local Anglican parish. But having spent nearly three decades as missionaries, we had one last hurdle to consider. Do Anglicans still do missions? If so, how?

In their first year of planting Rise Church in Portland, the Rev.
