Geeky Stuff

If you are interested in the geeky stuff, here it is...
  • NewWineskins.org was built using Ruby on Rails .
  • All of the development tools run under 'OS X', I just need a faster Mac .
  • Textmate for editing.
  • Version Control is handled by svnX .
  • The deployment tool is Capistrano .
  • The little bit at the end of the registration page that makes it difficult of spam robots to register is called Simple Captcha . That took a while to track down because I didn't know that technology was called 'captcha'.
  • jRails is a plug-in that makes jQuery easy to integrate into the Rails environment. jQuery pretty much makes javascript easy and readable.
  • The little bit of graphics is done with The Gimp .
  • Lastly, the site is hosted on RAILSplayground . Their tech support was very helpful in clearing the last couple of hurdles in deploying Extreme Seminary.
